Paper

RandomMeas.jl: A Julia Package for Randomized Measurements in Quantum Devices

Andreas Elben and Benoit Vermersch,

Quantum 10, 2086 (2026).

We introduce $\texttt{RandomMeas.jl}$, a modular and high-performance open-source software package written in Julia for implementing and analyzing randomized measurement protocols in quantum c…

Paper

Quantum correlations in the steady state of light-emitter ensembles from perturbation theory

Dolf Huybrechts and Tommaso Roscilde,

Quantum 10, 2085 (2026).

The coupling of a quantum system to an environment leads generally to decoherence, and it is detrimental to quantum correlations within the system itself. Yet some forms of quantum correlati…

Paper

“Nonlocality-of-a-single-photon” based Quantum Key Distribution and Random Number Generation schemes and their device-independent security analysis

Konrad Schlichtholz, Bianka Woloncewicz, Tamoghna Das, Marcin Markiewicz, and Marek Żukowski,

Quantum 10, 2084 (2026).

The question of “non-locality of a single photon'', which started with a paper by Tan, Walls and Collett (TWC, 1991) stirred a thirty years long debate. This hampered attempts to use the TWC…

Paper

Wire Codes

Nouédyn Baspin and Dominic Williamson,

Quantum 10, 2083 (2026).

Quantum information is fragile and must be protected by a quantum error-correcting code for large-scale practical applications. Recently, highly efficient quantum codes have been discovered…

Paper

Variational subspace methods and application to improving variational Monte Carlo dynamics

Adrien Kahn, Luca Gravina, and Filippo Vicentini,

Quantum 10, 2082 (2026).

We present a formalism that allows for the direct manipulation and optimization of subspaces, circumventing the need to optimize individual states when using subspace methods. Using the dete…

Paper

Fibonacci Waveguide Quantum Electrodynamics

Florian Bönsel, Flore K. Kunst, and Federico Roccati,

Quantum 10, 2081 (2026).

Waveguide quantum electrodynamics (QED) provides a powerful framework for engineering quantum interactions, traditionally relying on periodic photonic arrays with continuous energy bands. He…

Paper

Holonomic quantum computation: a scalable adiabatic architecture

Clara Wassner, Tommaso Guaita, Jens Eisert, and Jose Carrasco,

Quantum 10, 2080 (2026).

Holonomic quantum computation exploits the geometric evolution of eigenspaces of a degenerate Hamiltonian to implement unitary evolution of computational states. In this work we introduce a…

Paper

State preparation with parallel-sequential circuits

Zhi-Yuan Wei and Daniel Malz,

Quantum 10, 2079 (2026).

We introduce parallel-sequential (PS) circuits, a family of quantum circuit layouts that interpolate between brickwall and sequential circuits, which introduces control parameters governing…

Paper

Estimating the best separable approximation of non-pure spin-squeezed states

Julia Mathé, Ayaka Usui, Otfried Gühne, and Giuseppe Vitagliano,

Quantum 10, 2078 (2026).

We discuss the estimation of the distance of a given mixed many-body quantum state to the set of fully separable states, applied to the concrete scenario of collective spin states. Concretel…

Paper

Resource-theoretic hierarchy of contextuality for general probabilistic theories

Lorenzo Catani, Thomas D. Galley, and Tomáš Gonda,

Quantum 10, 2077 (2026).

In this work we present a hierarchy of generalized contextuality. It refines the traditional binary distinction between contextual and noncontextual theories, and facilitates their compariso…

Paper

Elevating Variational Quantum Semidefinite Programs for Polynomial Objectives

Iria W. Wang, Robin Brown, Taylor L. Patti, Anima Anandkumar, Marco Pavone, and Susanne F. Yelin,

Quantum 10, 2076 (2026).

Many practically important NP-hard optimization problems are inherently higher-order polynomial optimizations, which are typically addressed using approximation algorithms. Classical relaxat…

Paper

Comparing the performance of practical two-qubit gates for individual $^{171}$Yb ions in yttrium orthovanadate

Mahsa Karimi, Faezeh Kimiaee Asadi, Stephen C. Wein, and Christoph Simon,

Quantum 10, 2075 (2026).

In this paper, we investigate three schemes for implementing Controlled-Z (CZ) gates between individual ytterbium (Yb) rare-earth ions doped into yttrium orthovanadate (YVO$_4$ or YVO). Specif…

Paper

Quantum recurrences and the arithmetic of Floquet dynamics

Amit Anand, Dinesh Valluri, Jack Davis, and Shohini Ghose,

Quantum 10, 2074 (2026).

The Poincaré recurrence theorem shows that conservative systems in a bounded region of phase space eventually return arbitrarily close to their initial state after a finite amount of time. A…

Paper

Clifford-Deformed Compass Codes

Julie A. Campos and Kenneth R. Brown,

Quantum 10, 2073 (2026).

We can design efficient quantum error-correcting (QEC) codes by tailoring them to our choice of quantum architecture. Useful tools for constructing such codes include Clifford deformations a…

Paper

Quantum convolutional channels and multiparameter families of 2-unitary matrices

Rafał Bistroń, Jakub Czartowski, and Karol Życzkowski,

Quantum 10, 2072 (2026).

Many alternative approaches to construct quantum channels with large entangling capacity were proposed in the past decade, resulting in multiple isolated gates. In this work, we put forward…

Paper

Diversity Methods for Improving Convergence and Accuracy of Quantum Error Correction Decoders Through Hardware Emulation

Francisco Garcia-Herrero, Javier Valls, Llanos Vergara-Picazo, and Vicente Torres,

Quantum 10, 2071 (2026).

As quantum computing moves toward fault-tolerant architectures, quantum error correction (QEC) decoder performance is increasingly critical for scalability. Understanding the impact of trans…
