Polynomial time constructive decision algorithm for multivariable quantum signal processing

Yuki Ito, Hitomi Mori, Kazuki Sakamoto, and Keisuke Fujii,

Quantum 10, 2102 (2026).

Quantum signal processing (QSP) and quantum singular value transformation (QSVT) have provided a unified framework for understanding many quantum algorithms, including factorization, matrix…

Construction and Decoding of Quantum Margulis Codes

Michele Pacenti, Dimitris Chytas, and Bane Vasić,

Quantum 10, 2101 (2026).

Quantum low-density parity-check codes are a promising approach to fault-tolerant quantum computation, offering potential advantages in rate and decoding efficiency. In this work, we introdu…

Learning symmetry-protected topological order from trapped-ion experiments

Nicolas Sadoune, Ivan Pogorelov, Claire L. Edmunds, Giuliano Giudici, Giacomo Giudice, Christian D. Marciniak, Martin Ringbauer, Thomas Monz, and Lode Pollet,

Quantum 10, 2100 (2026).

Classical machine learning has proven remarkably useful in post-processing quantum data, yet typical learning algorithms often require prior training to be effective. In this work, we employ…

Paper

Efficient implementation of single particle Hamiltonians in exponentially reduced qubit space

Martin Plesch, Martin Friák, and Ijaz Ahamed Mohammad,

Quantum 10, 2099 (2026).

Current and near-term quantum hardware is constrained by limited qubit counts, circuit depth, and the high cost of repeated measurements. We address these challenges for solid-state Hamilton…

Paper

Cost of quantum secret key

Karol Horodecki, Leonard Sikorski, Siddhartha Das, and Mark M. Wilde,

Quantum 10, 2098 (2026).

In this paper, we develop the resource theory of quantum secret key. Operating under the assumption that entangled states with zero distillable key do not exist, we define the key cost of a…

Paper

The Complexity of Local Stoquastic Hamiltonians on 2D Lattices

Gabriel Waite and Michael J. Bremner,

Quantum 10, 2097 (2026).

We show the 2-Local Stoquastic Hamiltonian problem on a 2D square qubit lattice is StoqMA-complete. We achieve this by extending the spatially sparse circuit construction of Oliveira and Ter…

Paper

Quantum Optimal Control for Coherent Spin Dynamics of Radical Pairs via Pontryagin Maximum Principle

Ugur G. Abdulla, Jose H. Rodrigues, and Jean-Jacques Slotine,

Quantum 10, 2096 (2026).

This paper aims to devise the shape of the external electromagnetic field that drives the spin dynamics of radical pairs to a quantum coherent state through maximization of the triplet-born…

Paper

Assessing non-Gaussian quantum state conversion with the stellar rank

Oliver Hahn, Maxime Garnier, Giulia Ferrini, Alessandro Ferraro, and Ulysse Chabaud,

Quantum 10, 2095 (2026).

State conversion is a fundamental task in quantum information processing. Quantum resource theories allow for analyzing and bounding conversions that use restricted sets of operations. In th…

Paper

Phase Transitions and Noise Robustness of Quantum Graph States

Tatsuya Numajiri, Shion Yamashika, Tomonori Tanizawa, Ryosuke Yoshii, Yuki Takeuchi, and Shunji Tsuchiya,

Quantum 10, 2094 (2026).

Graph states are entangled states that are essential for quantum information processing. As experimental advances enable the realization of large-scale graph states, efficient fidelity estim…

Paper

Efficient Simulation of High-Level Quantum Gates

Adam Husted Kjelstrøm, Andreas Pavlogiannis, and Jaco van de Pol,

Quantum 10, 2093 (2026).

Quantum circuit simulation is paramount to the verification and optimization of quantum algorithms, and considerable research efforts have been made towards efficient simulators. While circu…

Paper

Hyper-optimized Quantum Lego Contraction Schedules

Balint Pato, June Vanlerberghe, and Kenneth R. Brown,

Quantum 10, 2092 (2026).

Calculating the quantum weight enumerator polynomial (WEP) is a valuable tool for characterizing quantum error-correcting (QEC) codes, but it is computationally hard for large or complex cod…

Paper

Nonclassical nullifiers for quantum hypergraph states

Abhijith Ravikumar, Darren W. Moore, and Radim Filip,

Quantum 10, 2091 (2026).

Quantum hypergraph states form a generalisation of the graph state formalism that goes beyond the pairwise (dyadic) interactions imposed by remaining inside the Gaussian approximation. Netwo…

Paper

On the structure of higher order quantum maps

Anna Jenčová,

Quantum 10, 2090 (2026).

We study higher order quantum maps in the context of a *-autonomous category of affine subspaces. We show that types of higher order maps can be identified with certain Boolean functions tha…

Paper

Regular language quantum states

Marta Florido-Llinàs, Álvaro M. Alhambra, David Pérez-García, and J. Ignacio Cirac,

Quantum 10, 2089 (2026).

We introduce regular language states, a family of quantum many-body states. They are built from a special class of formal languages, called regular, which has been thoroughly studied in the…

Monogamy of Entanglement Bounds and Improved Approximation Algorithms for Qudit Hamiltonians

Zackary Jorquera, Alexandra Kolla, Steven Kordonowy, Juspreet Singh Sandhu, and Stuart Wayland,

Quantum 10, 2088 (2026).

We prove new monogamy of entanglement bounds for two-local qudit Hamiltonians of rank-one projectors without one-local terms. In particular, we certify the maximum energy in terms of the max…

Disentangling strategies and entanglement transitions in unitary circuit games with matchgates

Raúl Morral-Yepes, Marc Langer, Adam Gammon-Smith, Barbara Kraus, and Frank Pollmann,

Quantum 10, 2087 (2026).

In unitary circuit games, two competing parties, an "entangler" and a "disentangler", can induce an entanglement phase transition in a quantum many-body system. The transition occurs at a ce…
