Multipartite Entanglement Distribution in Quantum Networks using Subgraph Complementations

Aniruddha Sen, Kenneth Goodenough, and Don Towsley,

Quantum 9, 1911 (2025).

Quantum networks are important for quantum communication, enabling tasks such as quantum teleportation, quantum key distribution, quantum sensing, and quantum error correction, often utilizi…

Zero-error communication under discrete-time Markovian dynamics

Satvik Singh, Mizanur Rahaman, and Nilanjana Datta,

Quantum 9, 1910 (2025).

Consider an open quantum system with (discrete-time) Markovian dynamics. Our task is to store information in the system in such a way that it can be retrieved perfectly, even after the syste…

Direct Analysis of Zero-Noise Extrapolation: Polynomial Methods, Error Bounds, and Simultaneous Physical-Algorithmic Error Mitigation

Pegah Mohammadipour and Xiantao Li,

Quantum 9, 1909 (2025).

Zero-noise extrapolation (ZNE) is a widely used quantum error mitigation technique that artificially amplifies circuit noise and then extrapolates the results to the noise-free circuit. A co…

Dicke subsystems are entangled

Szilárd Szalay and Péter Nyári,

Quantum 9, 1908 (2025).

We show that all reduced states of nonproduct symmetric Dicke states of arbitrary number of qudits are genuinely multipartite entangled, and of nonpositive partial transpose with respect to…

Efficient Learning of Quantum States Prepared With Few Non-Clifford Gates

Sabee Grewal, Vishnu Iyer, William Kretschmer, and Daniel Liang,

Quantum 9, 1907 (2025).

We give a pair of algorithms that efficiently learn a quantum state prepared by Clifford gates and $O(\log n)$ non-Clifford gates. Specifically, for an $n$-qubit state $|\psi\rangle$ prepared with…

Improving Quantum Approximate Optimization by Noise-Directed Adaptive Remapping

Filip B. Maciejewski, Jacob Biamonte, Stuart Hadfield, and Davide Venturelli,

Quantum 9, 1906 (2025).

We present Noise-Directed Adaptive Remapping (NDAR), a heuristic algorithm for approximately solving binary optimization problems by leveraging certain types of noise. We consider access to…

Paper

Designing fault-tolerant circuits using detector error models

Peter-Jan H.S. Derks, Alex Townsend-Teague, Ansgar G. Burchards, and Jens Eisert,

Quantum 9, 1905 (2025).

Quantum error-correcting codes, such as subspace, subsystem, and Floquet codes, are typically constructed within the stabilizer formalism, which does not fully capture the idea of fault tole…

Paper

Non-Heisenbergian quantum mechanics

MohammadJavad Kazemi and Ghadir Jafari,

Quantum 9, 1904 (2025).

Relaxing the postulates of an axiomatic theory is a natural way to find more general theories, and historically, the discovery of non-Euclidean geometry is a famous example of this procedure…

Paper

Out of the Loop: Structural Approximation of Optimisation Landscapes and non-Iterative Quantum Optimisation

Tom Krüger and Wolfgang Mauerer,

Quantum 9, 1903 (2025).

The Quantum Approximate Optimisation Algorithm (QAOA) is a widely studied quantum-classical iterative heuristic for combinatorial optimisation. While QAOA targets problems in complexity clas…

Paper

Cost of Simulating Entanglement in Steering Scenarios

Yujie Zhang, Jiaxuan Zhang, and Eric Chitambar,

Quantum 9, 1902 (2025).

Quantum entanglement is a fundamental feature of quantum mechanics, yet certain entangled states that are unsteerable can be classically simulated in steering scenarios, making them unable t…

Paper

Comparing quantum and classical Monte Carlo algorithms for estimating Betti numbers of clique complexes

Ismail Yunus Akhalwaya, Ahmed Bhayat, Adam Connolly, Steven Herbert, Lior Horesh, Julien Sorci, and Shashanka Ubaru,

Quantum 9, 1901 (2025).

Several quantum and classical Monte Carlo algorithms for Betti Number Estimation (BNE) on clique complexes have recently been proposed, though it is unclear how their performances compare. W…

Paper

Complexity of Fermionic 2-SAT

Maarten Stroeks and Barbara M. Terhal,

Quantum 9, 1900 (2025).

We introduce the fermionic satisfiability problem, Fermionic $k$-SAT: this is the problem of deciding whether there is a fermionic state in the null-space of a collection of fermionic, parity-…

Paper

Fiber Bundle Fault Tolerance of GKP Codes

Ansgar G. Burchards, Steven T. Flammia, and Jonathan Conrad,

Quantum 9, 1899 (2025).

We investigate multi-mode GKP (Gottesman–Kitaev–Preskill) quantum error-correcting codes from a geometric perspective. First, we construct their moduli space as a quotient of groups and exhi…

Paper

Learning-Driven Annealing with Adaptive Hamiltonian Modification for Solving Large-Scale Problems on Quantum Devices

Sebastian Schulz, Dennis Willsch, and Kristel Michielsen,

Quantum 9, 1898 (2025).

We present Learning-Driven Annealing (LDA), a framework that links individual quantum annealing evolutions into a global solution strategy to mitigate hardware constraints such as short anne…

Paper

Effective Distance of Higher Dimensional HGPs and Weight-Reduced Quantum LDPC Codes

Shi Jie Samuel Tan and Lev Stambler,

Quantum 9, 1897 (2025).

Quantum error correction plays a prominent role in the realization of quantum computation, and quantum low-density parity-check (qLDPC) codes are believed to be practically useful stabilizer…

Error Bounds for Open Quantum Systems with Harmonic Bosonic Bath

Kaizhao Liu and Jianfeng Lu,

Quantum 9, 1896 (2025).

We investigate the dependence of physical observable of open quantum systems with Bosonic bath on the bath correlation function. We provide an error estimate of the difference of physical ob…
